About This Project

The client’s brief for this retail space was simple – it was to be beautiful. The design was to respond both to the adjoining coffee shop as well as to the product being sold. The items sold in the shop were bold, bright and made a real statement about the client and the St Kilda clientele. The shop and its fittings were therefore designed with simple lines and a neutral colour palette.

The series of frames allow for a sense of organisation in an otherwise chaotic space. The frames not only contain the products, they also highlight the relationship between the clothing store and the cafe, as do the round windows which provide interaction between the two spaces.
